MINUTES June 8, 2019

Opened 7:30 am by Governor Kevin Christians. 36 knights signed the register. He also opened for Lewis and Clark #199 and Black Hills #29

Governor Christians began with a brief message that the bylaws were currently under review. He spoke briefly about the arches of steel at the Freedom Flights and about the college members who participated in the North Iowa Bandmasters Parade.

Dennis Boemer spoke about the different types of participation we should report which could be added to the annual report.

Grand Governor Gregory Anderson then spoke on a few topics.

  1. He added a few suggestions for events which could be added to the annual report and urged that the knights should email them to secretary McCampbell.
  2. He introducted our own knight, David Dryer, as the preceptor general of YRSCNA, which is a great honor.
  3. He also pointed out that Iowa has two regents, which is also a great honor for our state.
  4. He spoke briefly about the upcoming annual convention, which will be in Salt Lake City the first few days of August.
  5. He also pointed out that #37's secretary, Rick McCampbell would be receiving the Order of the Purple Cross, along with W. Stevan Elliot, who would be traveling to Salt Lake City after all. The news was greeted with positive comments all around.

Governor Christians introduced George Bauder, the secretary of Black Hills #29, and Knight Bauder invited us to attend South Dakota's Grand York Rite sessions.

Past Governor Chrlie Smithson brought up questions about the bylaws, after which Deputy Grand Governor Sheeler gave a brief explanation of the problem and spoke of the steps which were being taken.

Governor Christians then introduced Rich McBride of South Dakota, who gave a few positive words about York Rite Masonry.in our two states.

Governor Christins closed the college at 8:15. The Grand Conclave of the Knights Templar of Iowa resumed session at 8:30.
