 Minutes for December 2, 2017
Opened 1:00 pm in due form, Governor Kevin Smith presiding.
Christopher Steckman, George Eichhorn, Zachary Spurgeon, Aaron Ritchie and Rodney Heiden were initiated as new Knight Companions.
Governor Smith welcomed everyone and introduced Grand Governor, Gregory Andersen.
Grand Governor Andersen then spoke on several points:
- The Knight Companions who attended the national meeting in Dallas.
- Winning the Spencer Award for the third time in a row.
- The two new Purple Cross award recipients: Gene Hatfield and Rick Bowersox
- Bryce Hildreth was elected a Regent in Dallas to join David Dryer on that board.
- Companion/ Knight Dryer was elected in 2015. There are only 35 Regents and Iowa has two.
Governor Smith spoke about new members from Albia, and Tom Megel asked for help in assisting other bodies, such as Ames, with initiation work.
The meeting was adjourned in form at 4:00 pm, and was followed by heavy hors de'ouvres.
